Charlie has been volunteering with the Humane Society since March of 2015 as a dog walker. Every wednesday he walks all the adoptable dogs and some of the stray dogs, does occaisional cleanup, and makes sure everyone always has lots of water. When a dog is having a hard time adjusting to kennel life, he’ll sit with them in their kennel until they feel comfortable and he says his favorite part of being a dog walker is when the dogs want to give him attention and affection during their walks! He says it’s rewarding to see the dogs give so much affection and be so happy despite living at the shelter. Charlie began volunteering back in 2015 when he was on the brink of retirement and became more interested in the welfare of the shelter dogs. When he’s not volunteering at the shelter, Charlie is an electrical engineer with a Yorkie named Katie at home. Thank you Charlie for all that you do for the dogs here!
