Oprah came into our shelter severely emaciated and suffering from an old injury that amputated part of her leg. Dr. Velázquez from Westminster Vet Hospital put a treatment plan into place to help Oprah heal. HSCC reached out to Maryland Orthotics & Prosthetics & D&J MEDICAL in an attempt to get Oprah a prosthetic to help her get around. Not only did she receive her prosthetic, but she also got a new home! Oprah has been adopted by John Beeler, a prosthetist from D&J Medical. We could not have hoped for a better ending for Oprah.
